A Framework of the Impact of Cyberspace on Contemporary Organizations
2006
This paper is an attempt to create a holistic approach to the problem of the impact of the elements operating in cyberspace on an organization. Firstly, a classification of the entities operating in cyberspace is offered. Next, a taxonomy of the possible types of influences of the elements of cyberspace on an organization is presented. In the following part of the paper two matrices concerning types of direct and indirect impact of the above mentioned entities are provided along with examples. Finally, conclusions are offered.
R&D subsidies & external collaborative breadth: Differential gains and the role of collaboration experience
2018
The file attached to this record is the author's final peer reviewed version. External collaboration breadth is important for firms to acquire the knowledge needed to innovate. In this paper, we combine cross-sectional and longitudinal data from the Spanish Panel of Technological Innovation Survey (PITEC) to examine the indirect impact of R&D subsidies on firm external collaboration breadth. We contribute to understanding of the indirect impacts of R&D subsidies by first providing strong evidence of an economically significant average positive impact of R&D subsidies on firm external collaboration breadth. Second, our results advance understanding of the differential impacts of R&D subsidie…
The role of saliva in aroma release and perception
2017
Aroma perception is an important factor driving food acceptance. Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are released from the food matrix and then reach the receptors located in the nasal cavity, leading to their perception. These steps are closely dependent on the physicochemical properties of the volatile compounds and the food matrix, but also on human physiology. Among the different physiological parameters involved, the literature reports that saliva has various effects on VOCs and therefore appears as a major actor impacting the perception of aroma. This article reviews how saliva takes part in aroma release, considering both in vitro and in vivo approaches, and how it may affect perceptio…
